 The Downland Practice

Booking an appointment

Appointments are available every day from 8:30am to 6.30pm. All consultations are by booked appointment. When you ring our trained receptionists, we encourage you to explain to them in confidence what you need. If they have some idea of your problem they can do their best to make sure you see or speak to the most appropriate person at the most appropriate time. This might include:

  • A routine doctor or nurse appointment
  • Speaking with a Nurse,Health Visitor, or Pharmacist
  • Speaking with your GP on the telephone
  • An urgent appointment with the Duty Doctor or Practice Nurse
  • A Home Visit
  • Accessing the emergency service

Patients may also book appointments online. Please ask at reception for the relevant form so we can set up this service for you.

Booked GP appointments are 10 minutes long. The Doctor will try to address all your problems, but there may be times when you require a double appointment or two separate visits.

Nurse appointments can be between 10 mins to 30 mins, depending on the reason for your visit.

Flu Clinics:  our clinics have now finished for this season. If you still require a vaccination ring reception or our Pharmacist to  check for availability of the vaccines.
