Online Patient Access

What is Online Patient Access?

With Patient Access, you can now view, book and cancel appointments.  You may also view your medications, immunisations and allegies from home, work or on the move — wherever you have access to the Internet.

Patient Access is not just for booking GP appointments, you can also:

  • Order repeat prescriptions.
  • Change your address details.
  • View part of your medical records

As of 1 March 2016, patients may apply to their GP in writing for access to their detailed coded medical records. It is up to your GP to decide if you should be allowed full access to your medical records.  Your GP may not think it in your best interest for you to have access to detailed medical codes used in consultation or free text if he or she believes that in sharing such information may cause unnecessary harm or concern. Access may be granted on the following basis:

  • Full access to all permitted fields
  • Full access, but with some fileds limited and/or some records hidden
  • Access withheld pending a consultation between the GP and/or patient/carer.

NHS guidance on patient access can be found on the following link: NHS Patient Guidance to Online Access

Please provide photo id to have access to this service.
